Teen Transition Services

Summer Work Experience - STEP/SWEP

We provide high school students with disabilities paid,work-based learning experiences in community businesses. Participants receive job coaching and employment skill training to succeed in their workplace.

St. Charles County - Summer Teen Employment Program (STEP)

Each year, up to 70 teens with disabilities who are St. Charles County residents can participate in this six-week summer employment opportunity. Eligible participants are students who will be returning to high school in the fall and are eligible for services by the St. Charles Regional Office prior to the start of the program.

This program emphasizes experiencing the differences between school and work and learning about future career opportunities.

The application process may take several months, so we encourage interested applicants to apply as soon as possible. We usually accept applications between November and February for the following summer. This is a collaborative project between St. Louis ARC, Alternative Opportunities, Community Living Inc., Center for Specialized Services, BCI, Mers/Goodwill, and Easterseals Midwest.

St. Louis County - Summer Work Experience Program  (SWEP)

Eligible participants are students who are St. Louis County residents. The application process may take several months, so we encourage interested applicants to apply as soon as possible. We usually accept applications between November and February for the following summer.
